Oryon Watermill can build!

The first hydropower plant of the waterboard Rijn en IJssel, will be build in the weir in the Oude IJssel at Doesburg. The board took into account the revenue model, performance, risks and opportunities in the decision-making process. The decision was taken to build the Oryon Watermill, a hydropower plant which generates sustainable energy from a small drop. Besides the difference in water level, the Oryon Watermill can generate energy from other forms of running water like rivers, residual water and tidal flow. The Oryon Watermill is characterized by the fish-friendliness and the high efficiency. The plant build in Doesburg, can provide 300-400 European households from energy. The actual construction of the plant is expected to autumn 2016.
